Sacraments

The Sacraments are the way we focus and celebrate our life together in the Church, and grow into the Body of Christ. They are actions of Christ in which he touches our lives at important moments, and in the ordinary routine of life together.

There are Seven Sacraments:

Called the ‘Sacraments of Initiation‘ by which we are joined to Christ and fed by him to grow into his body, the Church.
Sacraments of Healing
Sacraments of Calling, ‘Vocation’

Communion and Reconciliation are the sacraments of daily family life, and celebrated at regular times which you can find above under ‘prayer and Worship, or on the Parish Newsletter.


Baptism and Confirmation are sacraments of Conversion, the Way into Life in the body of Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. So they can only ever be celebrated once, after serious preparation


Marriage and Ordination mark us out for particular roles in the family of the Church, so always a big occasion, for most people only ever celebrated once.


Anointing of the Sick takes place at times of need, whenever there is a serious change in their condition.


RCIA. Adults who wish to explore becoming a Catholic, or who simply wish to find out more about the Catholic faith, are welcome to ‘come and see’, as Jesus invited his first followers.
